It is with great sadness that the Boston Fire Department and Boston Firefighters Local 718 announce the Line of Duty Deaths of Firefighters Paul J. Cahill, Engine Company 30 and Warren J. Payne, Ladder Company 25. Firefighters Cahill and Payne made the Supreme Sacrifice while operating at Box 4-281 on Wednesday August 29, 2007 in the West Roxbury section of Boston. Funeral and Wake information will be posted when available. Both men had 25 years of service to the BFD and both leave behind spouses and 2 children apiece. Rest In Peace my brothers. They are the first two men to die in a fire in the City of Boston since FLT Stephen Minehan made the Supreme Sacrifice while operating at Box 9-4113 on June 24, 1994 in the Charlestown section of the city.
